Event description:
Hip-hop and symphonic music collide in a one-night theatrical concert led by Texas hip-hop icon Paul Wall with special guests. The performance pairs Southern rap and R&B with a live orchestra for a cinematic reimagining of classic Texas sounds. The San Angelo Community Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Fagner Rocha, provides the orchestral backing inside Murphey Performance Hall.
This all-ages show is intended for longtime hip-hop followers as well as families experiencing orchestral arrangements for the first time. Presented by Sonora Bank in honor of the YMCA’s 175th Anniversary, 100% of proceeds benefit YMCA childcare programs and summer camp scholarships, supporting safe spaces, mentorship, and opportunities for local youth.
